Learning

What are
social skills?

Social skills are attitudes and behaviours that allow your child to get in touch with others, get along with them, make friends, work as a team and take his place within a group. Some social skills, such as waiting one’s turn, listening to instructions and expressing feelings, help your child deal with all kinds of daily situations. Later, these skills will also help your child succeed at school. There are some simple words and actions you can use every day, based on your child’s temperament, that will help guide your little one to develop his social skills.

The earlier
the better.

Learning to get in touch with others is one of the most important challenges a young child faces. Acquiring social skills begins at home. As a parent, you are the best person to help your little one learn to interact well with others. From the very first months, you can help your baby develop social skills that she will be able to use throughout life.
